English for parents
Allgemeine Informationen

Our trip to London at the end of June 12
We, Beate,Evelyn, Kathrin, Anissa, Sibylle, Bea, Mary-Jane, Heike and Mrs. Kampelmann, had a nice and beautiful weekend in London at the end of June.
We met at Schönefeld Airport very early in the morning. And most of us came to the airport in time.
After a short flight and a trip with the Stansted Express we arrived in London (Liverpool Street Station).
Our first stop was Greenwich, where we had to walk a lot to see all the sights.
We saw many interesting places like the the Greenwich Royal Observatory and many parts of the olympic venue ( equestrian facility).
After a sunny boat trip on the river Themse along many important buildings ( we even saw the shart- the very new tallest building in Europe) we arrived at Westminster Pier in the heart of London...
Passing by No 10, Downing Street and Trafalgar Square we walked to Conent Garden ( one of Frau Kampelmann favourite spots in London). There most of us enjoyed the shopping and , of course, the buskers.
Then we went by tube to Paddington station and from there to our hotel. Only a few minutes later we ordered our first drink ("a pint of bitter, please") in a nice pub nearby and had a nice meal in a posh restaurant...
On Sunday morning our breakfast was even brought to our doors.
This time only one of us was late!!!! (Guess who it was !?!).
After a short walk through Green Park and along Buckingham Palace...
... we went to Westminster Cathedral where some of us attended mass and others enjoyed the fantastic view from the top of the bell tower.
After a typical English lunch in a typical English pub called King's Arms ( everybody was brave enough to order in English)...
... we went to Temple district ( middle temple) with the most impressive Temple Church.
Before we flew back to Germany, we had to buy souvenirs for the beloved ones back home ( We bought T-shirts, mugs, strange pens, chocolade, crisps, a rosary, a brochure of Temple Church, cuff links, scarfs, paper kites and many more things nobody really needs...).
At the airport in Stansted we were searched again and again and we nearly missed our flight to Berlin.
But eventually everything went well, because our flight was late!
... to be continued after our next trip....
